빅뱅이 일본 최대 음악축제 ‘MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARD JAPAN 2009’ (이하 VMAJ 2009)의 무대에서 일본 팬들에게 인사를 전했다.

MC 게키단 히토리의 소개로 등장한 빅뱅은 태양과 승리가 유창한 일본어로 "여러분 즐겁습니까? 우리들도 세계적인 아티스트와 함께 무대에 서게 되니 흥분됩니다" 등의 말을 이어가 일본 팬들을 열광시켰다. 태양은 "역시 VMAJ의 열기는 뜨겁네요"라는 소감으로 현장의 분위기를 전했다.

이에 대성은 "(너무 뜨거워) 위험하네요"라는 농담을 덧붙였고 탑은 "아직 멀었다구요"라고 대답해 현장 분위기를 더욱 달궜다.

지드래곤은 "여러분의 함성 소리가 더 높아지는 것이 들린다"며 관중들의 반응을 더욱 뜨겁게 만들었고 곧이어 이날 베스트 팝 비디오를 수상한 Katy Perry의 무대를 멋지게 소개했다.


이날 시상식에는 동방의 별 보아가 션 가렛과 세계 최초로 그녀의 미국진출 데뷔곡 'I Did It For Love'를 선보여 화려한 무대를 꾸몄다. 션 가렛은 보아와의 첫 합동 공연에 대해 "보아의 공연이 훌륭했다"며 소감을 밝혀 눈길을 끌었다.
